Skyrim Total Character Makeover

There's a bunch of mods available for

Skyrim Total Character Makeover

Skyrim: Special Edition on both consoles and PC.

Total Character Makeover is an attempt to collect this work in one cohesive, easy-to-install compilation. I've gone through every face and body mod on the Nexus so you don't have to! I compared each individual texture in Photoshop and in the game, and mixed and matched until they looked just right. PC SSE - Help Total Character Makeover vs WICO (self.skyrimmods) submitted 2 years ago by Lemanski I've been tossing between Total Character Makeover and Windsong Immersive Character Overhaul for the better part of the day and I can safely say I still haven't made a decision.

One mod that's available on all three platforms is pretty much essential for anyone who has already played Skyrim and doesn't want to drag themselves through the really slow, boring intro again.

I mean, you have to ride around in a cart for like eight days before you get to even create your character without the mod installed. You have to wait for what seems like ages to take your turn at the chopping block, and then when all that waiting is about to be blissfully over, a dragon appears. A dragon we've all seen countless times.

The mod is available on Nexus mods or through the in-game mod installer that uses Bethesda.net. This replaces Steam Workshop, and requires a Bethesda.net account. (It also has the most annoying sign-in menu I've ever seen. When you enter your login name, if you hit 'Tab' rather than going to the Password line, you exit the menu. Why? Who designed this madness? You have to press the 'Down' arrow to get to the Password menu, which is just crazy!)

Apr 30, 2016  I've beaten this game once already, not sure if it was the easiest difficulty or the next, can't remember. Anyway, I was playing on Legend difficulty and one of my guys was bleeding out. Bleeding out xcom 2. Unconscious is a mental status effect that can be inflicted on XCOM Soldiers in XCOM 2. Unconscious units are unable to move and act for the rest of the mission, similar to when a soldier is Bleeding Out. Unconscious units can be carried by other soldiers to reposition or evacuate them. Feb 12, 2016  So I had one of my best snipers bleeding out, (there was a slight miscalculation the turn before, and I had not saved for over a mission) There was.

Skyrim Total Character Makeover

Here's the official description from modder Arthmoor:

Misery and despair have haunted you all your life. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, you've been arrested and thrown in the dungeons. Your trial was supposed to be weeks ago, only nobody has come for you. It's been so long since seeing daylight you no longer know what month it is anymore. The dungeon is cold, damp, and worse still, you're running out of food. At least you have that leak in the wall for water. It seems as though you've been forgotten, soon to rot away and die. The eight have forsaken you! Or.. have they?

Live Another Life provides an alternative means to start the game for those who do not wish to go through the lengthy intro sequence at Helgen. You will be given the opportunity to choose your race and then choose a new life for your character to lead. A wide variety of choices will be available. What you choose will have a lasting impact, so choose carefully or the gods may forsake you again!

Additional support has also been provided to allow you to extend Live Another Life with your own starts.

Skyrim

I haven't played a ton of Skyrim SE yet, but will have some thoughts on the game soon. So far, I find it falls in decidedly 'mixed-bag' territory, though being able to start without replaying the same intro was nice. Naturally, this mod and mods like it were available for vanilla Skyrim as well, but not on consoles. This gives PC and Xbox One players the ability to begin the game with an alternate start. A new beginning.

Update: An earlier version of this post stated that PS4 was also covered by this mod. I was mistaken. My apologies for the confusion. Oh, and a wag of the finger at Sony who really needs to make this happen. If PlayStation is the 'best place to play' then mods should be a no-brainer.

Skyrim was best known for its immersive world which just begged to be explored. As well as that, Bethesda created the perfect platform for the modding scene to explode into the mainstream, creating thousands upon thousands of mods for gamers to install, adding more value to the overall experience. Now that Skyrim Special Edition has been released, we've taken a look at how it performs on PC, most notably when you throw in a fair number of mods.

So before I go into just how I found the overall experience, let me go through exactly what we're packing inside the PC case:

ComponentOur Pick
PSUEVGA 850W
MotherboardASUS Z170 Pro Gaming
CPUIntel Core i5-6600K (overclocked to 4.6GHz)
RAM4x 4GB DDR4 Patriot Viper
GPUZOTAC NVIDIA GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme

Bethesda understands just how important mods are to the Skyrim experience. You'll be hard pressed to locate players who run through a vanilla build, aside from achievement hunters. And that's part of the reason why the company released the Special Edition for free if you're on PC and owned all the DLC.

This new version adds a bunch of new features that help make the console experience better too. For us PC folk, we've got the incredible 64-bit support, as well as engine enhancements baked right in, eliminating the need to have mods for certain features like depth of field, flora improvements, and more. Of course, it's possible to mod these newly added features, but it's handy that you don't have to.

Here's a list of mods that we have added to Skyrim Special Edition (35 in total — I'm eagerly waiting for other mods to be ported across):

With the above setup alone, I'm more than capable of enjoying a 60 frames-per-second experience, which is what is generally considered as the minimum for smooth gaming (and is technically the highest the connected monitors support). That's a constant 60FPS too, throughout the game, regardless as to what I happen to be doing. I also loaded a similar mod order for the original Skyrim game and noticed that while frame rates were too hitting the cap, there were odd instances of stutter.

Bethesda has seemingly done a solid job optimizing the engine, throwing in some improvements. Even in the character screen when passing through available hair styles and the like, everything felt smoother with animations that masked the super-short object load times. It's worth noting that one shouldn't expect to have trouble with Skyrim Special Edition with just under 40 mods installed. I'll be working to add texture packs and other additional content to really test the title as more are released.

The improved engine and DirectX 11 support ensure you're in for a good time in Skyrim. Should you have a massive list of favorite mods to install, the game will gladly be of assistance without issue. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to my immersive universe. I have some bandits to slay and some fur to produce. Be sure to sound off in the comments how you're getting on with the improve engine and your mod configuration.
