DOOM (2016) also seems to have taken a lot of cues from this mod, especially its execution mechanics. To the point that Doom 2016 weapons are remade for Brutal Doom (coded by Sgt Mark IV while the sprite remakes are from a resource pack from ZDoom forums with remodeled drone from Strife as the weapon upgrade drones). Jan 18, 2009 Boss Battles is a skulltag co-op map that goes through numerous stages of intense boss battles! Recomended players? 2(maybe) to 8 or more I dont know when this will be released, but i'm looking forward to playing the mod after i'm done Spoiler.
Modder ‘Sergeant_Mark_IV’ has released the final build of the Brutal Doom V21 mod for id Software’s classic shooter. According to the modder, Release Candidate 8 basically means that the V21 version is complete and no new features will be added to it.
In case you weren’t aware of, Brutal Doom adds realistic gore, dismemberments, headshots, executions, lightning effects, particles, makes enemies smarter and harder, makes gun louder and beefier, and adds epic new boss battles. This mod basically inspired Bethesda to include the finisher moves in its Doom 2016 game, and is easily one of the best mods for the classic Doom games.
Brutal Doom V21 Release Candidate 8 features much smoother dirt particles when shooting the floor, further gore improvements, more efficient punching, shows proper ammo indicator for the Grenade Launcher and more.

- Many bugs fixed.
- Much smoother dirt particles when shooting the floor.

- Punching is more efficient.
- Grenade Launcher has a proper ammo indicator.
- Whenever the player has Berserk strength, there will be a small red square with a black cross next to the player’s mugshot.
- When the player fires the Machinegun’s underbarrel grenade, it will display a small red dot next to the player’s crosshair until the grenade is reloaded again or the weapon is switched.

In my opinion, even though there's a whopping total of THREE boss battles in the game, I feel that the Cyberdemon is by far the best designed and most fun to fight, the Spider Mastermind puts up a good challenge, but ultimately fell short with her attack designs.
...AND THEN THERE'S THE HELL GUARDS.
These guys are by far and away the most disappointing battle in the game. Why? Because they're basically a less-fun version of Dark Samus from Metroid Prime 2 (who, itself, wasn't even that fun of a boss battle). A basic circle-strafe and dodge the incredibly slow projectile while peppering it and waiting for it's shield to go down battle for the first half, it then turns into the same thing, but minus the shield and they both share a heath bar so you only have to target one for the entire second half of the fight. It really just felt like the devs went 'pfft, I dunno. We need another boss battle, let's just throw this one together quickly.'
