  1. My Brightness Won T Adjust
Hi guys,
I'm using a Samsung ATIV book 7, it's brand new, but I'm having problems with adjusting the screen brightness. Neither the key controls, nor tampering with any Control Panel settings make any difference. It set itself to a relatively low level and won't react to anything.
It has an Intel HD400 in it and a Radeon 8500M HD.
My battery is fine, so the screen birghtness isn't set/locked due to some super-low power state.
I have searched far and wide for a solution - apparently I'm not alone with this problem, people with all kinds of laptops have run into it. Barely any solutions though.
I found a suggestion here:
http://windowsforum.com/threads/cant-adjust-display-brightness.5924/
I'll copy the main post here for convenience:
Anyone still unable to solve the problem try the following:
Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager
Once the Device Manger box opens expand the 'Monitors' tab
Left Click and Uninstall the monitor listed
Then select the Scan for Hardware Changes Icon
Sounds bizarre, but the adjust display brightness should reappear.

Now, my question is, does this sound like a good idea? What happens when I uninstall the monitor - will I still be able to see anything? (Sorry if this is a dumb question). Would you recommend trying the suggested solution above?
I'm cautious, as I don't want to mess up my brand new laptop.. But I also don't want to return the whole thing right away if this brightness issue is something that can be solved with a few clicks.
Thanks!

My Brightness Won T Adjust

Brightness won't adjust on windows 10 I have a Lenovo Ideapad 500 touch and I updated to windows 10 two days ago. Yesterday my screen suddenly went dim, I tried to increase the brightness and it says is in 100% but it doesnt change to higher or lower when i increase or decrease the brightness settings. Also, i cannot use the function keys to change brightness but the brightness bar in power options lets me change the brightness. Just that i have to shut the lid and reopen the lid(the screen should swithoff/refresh for it to work).
